PLX 101: Basic Analysis

PLX 101 is the foundational course for all PLX users. It is designed for the average user who has just begun to use PLX. The primary focus of PLX 101 is to provide an overview of the functionality of the software and to share best practices on how to use it. This course emphasizes hands-on experience, where students work in groups to resolve real-life case scenarios. In addition, this course assists users who are migrating from PenLink 8 to PLX.

In general, however, the PLX 101 class will cover the following topics, each with a set of hands-on exercises for the
student to complete at his or her individual computer:

Learn how to organize and maintain case information in an effective manner.


Learn how to analyze important views within your data, including frequency and common traits.

Create customized views of database records for effective data communication.

Export data

Export data to other PLX users or people in the field for efficient data sharing.


Generate various types of charts and
maps to see a graphical representation of your call and cell tower information.
